The Summer Residency

IGNITING CREATIVITY

The Summer Residency, an initiative by the Queer Culture Arts Foundation, is a groundbreaking program designed to cultivate a vibrant artist community and create accessibility by funding queer artists to be able to live and create in Fire Island Pines. Fire Island Pines experiences a wildly busy summer, with a packed programming calendar from the business district, foundations, homeowners, and brands utilizing our unique demographic to offer experiences. As the cost of renting during the summer months is at a premium, there is a huge need for space dedicated to the arts. At no cost to our artists and creators, we provide lodging and studio space at The Glass House for artistic creation, community building, and personal growth. The unique setting of Fire Island Pines during the summer creates an environment of togetherness and creativity, allowing artists to engage with the island's magic and unique energy in new and meaningful ways, unencumbered by financial restrictions.

Welcome to The Summer Residency, an unparalleled opportunity for queer artists and creators to immerse themselves in a unique, inspiring environment during the summer season in Fire Island Pines. This residency provides the space and time needed to host creatives in the height of summer–100% sponsored by the foundation. We invite you to apply and discover how The Summer Residency can be a transformative experience on your creative journey.
